PRABODHANAM — CHAPTER 2 SYNOPSIS The Question That Followed Him Chapter 2 follows Nikhil Deshmukh as his academic research begins to move beyond books, theories, and classroom discussions and into the living world of Mathura and Vrindavan. After Professor Sharma approves his research proposal, Nikhil prepares to leave Mumbai for his seven-day fieldwork journey. Although he remains an atheist and a sociology student, determined to observe faith from an academic and social perspective, the journey gradually begins to challenge the distance he has maintained between himself and the subject he is studying. On the train to Mathura, Nikhil observes fellow passengers and begins his fieldwork. A conversation with a stranger leads him to a question he cannot easily dismiss.

PRABODHANAM Chapter 1 — The Boy Who Questioned Everything Genre: Philosophical Drama • Sociology • Spiritual Mystery • Coming-of-Age Setting: Mumbai and Mathura–Vrindavan Written and Created by: Nihir Dhuri The Chapter introduces Nikhil Deshmukh, a young Sociology student whose greatest habit is also his greatest conflict: he questions everything. He does not accept an idea simply because society accepts it. He does not reject an idea merely because others believe it. Instead, he wants to understand why people believe what they believe. His questions revolve around faith, society, culture, tradition, identity, and the meaning people give to their lives. The chapter establishes Nikhil not as someone who simply denies religion, but as someone searching for an explanation beyond unquestioned belief.
