When growing up, there were a few things that I considered hobbies. Collecting comic books and baseball cards were two of them, playing baseball and basketball another pair, and then there was watching wrestling. My friends and I made a ritual of watching WCW and WWE (they were known as WWF back then) every time it was on TV. One of my favorites was none other than Al Snow. He was a little bit of crazy coupled with a batch of hilarious, and was a pretty good wrestler to boot.

So when I started to think of a theme for today's feature, Broken Icon Comics made is super easy. Take a pinch of digital comics, a dash of Al Snow (and Head!), then toss in the apocalypse and...

Over the past 18 months or so, we’ve interfaced with many of the industry’s best and up-and-coming creators and publishers. In doing so, we have learned the most common reservations and misconceptions about digital publishing in general, as well as specific to GlobalComix. And we know more broadly that the digital world can feel like a puzzle within western comics.

With all of that in mind, we’ve compiled an informal FAQ-style breakdown here for anyone thinking about publishing with GlobalComix, but who still need a more information.

1. What if I don't have the time?

Since we recently rolled out our new reading experience, we thought it was a good time to also utilize our new popularity algorithm to share some of the most popular comics over the past year. It's no surprise that these stories also have some of the most views on GlobalComix in that timeframe, but that's not the only thing the algorithm looks at. Whether these comics are completely new to you, or something you've already enjoyed in the past, it's a great time to give them a read.

Let us know your thoughts on this type of feature. It's a new one that we're trying out, so we'd love to hear your feedback on it. Would you like to see more...

We believe that when you read a digital comic book, it should feel good no matter the device that you’re using. It should capture that same experience as if you had the comic right there in your hands, flipping from page to page while engrossed in an incredible story. We’ve taken a hard look at our default and vertical reader and decided that it was time not just for an update, but a complete overhaul -- rebuilding it entirely from scratch.

Now, if the comic creator doesn’t have interactive framing, you’ll jump right into our new vertical reader. It’s designed for a smooth reading experience, with accurate and snappy zoom so you can dig into...

We're going to kick this month off right by taking a look at some of the comics running crowdfunding campaigns. We've featured some of them in the past, but there are two new entries as well. We highly recommend checking out all four of the campaigns -- they're all great stories created by even greater teams.

Feel free to share any campaigns you've found in the comments, and for the creators out there, take a look at this video by @EricTapper to learn how you can set up your campaign on GlobalComix. It will allow readers to discover your campaign easily on the browse comics page.

We're at the end of another month, so let's take a look back at all the comics featured during June. We started the month off big with our announcement of Heavy Metal arriving on GlobalComix, and the train kept rolling from there. We featured comics in the action, slice of life and crime genres, as well as comic themes like monsters and stories that were primarily historical in nature. We also featured two other publishers for the first time, with Bliss on Tap joining GlobalComix and Antarctic Press bringing a ton of new content to the platform.

Reflecting on the month as a whole, 'big' is probably an understatement. There were a lot of fantastic...

For the last feature of June we're taking a look at five comics that are themed around monsters. They come in all shapes, sizes and forms, and these stories are no exception. We wanted to include a broad spectrum of audience types with this feature, and its theme is a great time to share the kid-friendly Monster Me series of comics by AWA iPOP. We also have a great selection of stories from Source Point Press, Antarctic Press, KRG Publishing, and Heavy Metal.

While on the subject, take advantage of this monster of a deal and get your first month of GlobalComix Gold for only $1.99. You'll unlock unlimited reading for more than 5,000 comics, manga and graphic...

When we think about crime stories, there's a wide range of eras that are popular to focus on. We've picked out five capers that fall within that spectrum, going all the way back to the 1950s with a vigilante tale, moving through the 80s with two stories and capping off with a series set in 1999. There's also a story of a retiring detective with one last case, and it's one he never hoped to see.

You can access all of these great comics, plus thousands of others, with GlobalComix Gold. Get your first month for $1.99 and unlock unlimited reading for all of the content available on GlobalComix.

Today's feature highlights comics that have active crowdfunding campaigns. Since we typically feature five comics at a time, we're also featuring a selection of comics from the Slice of Life genre to cap things off.

For creators that would like to have their comics included in the crowdfunding roundup, you'll want to use our crowdfinder tool to make sure it's listed as active. @EricTapper created a great video that walks you through the steps to make that happen. You can watch it here.

For June's fourth feature we wanted to take a look at stories that reflect on moments from the past. We've featured plenty of modern day comics and stories based in the future, so we thought it was a good time to hone in on tales of yore. The five comics picked out include both fictional and historial stories. Some of them even put a new spin on well-known tales from folklore.

June feature #2 is all about action comics. We've picked out a selection of five stories that fall into a wide variety of themes, settings and plots. The action genre is great because it offers a platform for a broad spectrum of storytelling; the one thing constant in all of these comics is the action that will keep you on the edge of your seat as you flip from page to page.

Let us know your favorites in the comments, and share any action comics you're currently reading!
